Sagiro is designed from the ground up on a 100% On-Device, Privacy-First Architecture.
We believe your personal finances are strictly your personal business. Sagiro does not sell, monetize, upload, or share your financial data, transaction details, or SMS messages with any third-party company or server.
1. Information We Process & How It Is Handled
A. SMS Messages (Financial Transaction Parsing)
- Strict Local Processing: When you grant SMS permission (
READ_SMS / RECEIVE_SMS), Sagiro strictly filters and parses alphanumeric financial transactional alerts from Indian banks (e.g., HDFC, SBI, ICICI, Axis, UPI transactions).
- Zero Data Upload: All parsing algorithms, deduplication rules, and categorization logic execute entirely inside your local device processor and SQLite database.
- No Personal Chats Read: Personal messages, one-time passwords (OTPs), and non-financial messages are ignored and discarded.
B. Account Information (Optional Google Sign-In)
- If you choose to sign in with your Google account via Firebase Authentication, we only receive basic profile metadata (your name, email address, and avatar) to personalize your greeting and enable secure Private Sync.
- You can also use Sagiro completely anonymously as a Guest without signing in.
C. Audio & Receipt Image Processing (Optional)
- Voice Expense Entry: Audio is converted to text locally on your device via standard OS speech services. Zero raw voice recordings are stored or sent to remote servers.
- Receipt Scan / OCR: Image text extraction happens locally on your device hardware.
2. Things We Never Do
- We NEVER upload your financial transactions or bank balances to our servers.
- We NEVER sell, rent, or trade your data to credit rating agencies, lenders, or advertisers.
- We NEVER show third-party advertising or trackers inside the app.
- We NEVER access your contacts, personal chat messages, photos, or GPS location.
3. Cloud Backup & Private Sync™ (Google Drive E2EE)
If you enable Private Sync™, your encrypted backups are saved directly to your personal Google Drive appDataFolder (a hidden folder accessible only by your app installation).
- Backups are encrypted on-device with industry-standard AES-256-GCM encryption.
- Our team and servers have zero access to your Google Drive or your encrypted backup files.
4. App Security & Biometric Lock
Sagiro offers on-device security controls including:
- Biometric & Passcode Lock: Requires Fingerprint / Face Unlock or device PIN to access the application.
- Hide Balances on Launch: Masks numerical balance figures until tapped to prevent shoulder-surfing in public.
5. Data Deletion & User Control
You have absolute control over your data at all times:
- Delete All Data: You can permanently wipe all stored transactions, categories, budgets, and settings at any time by navigating to Settings → Danger Zone → Reset App Data.
- Uninstalling the App: Uninstalling Sagiro immediately removes the local SQLite database from your device.
